When we opened our Seattle retail store, we didn't give away hot dogs and balloons - we offered free memberships in Historic Seattle. This unique non-profit organization not only teaches and supports smart preservation, it puts its money where its mouth is by actually purchasing and developing significant properties to protect their architectural and economic contributions to the community. Historic Seattle's own home is the 1907 Dearborn House, a restoration-in-progress where practice and principles meet (by the light of our fixtures).
