Film Action Oregon is a nonprofit dedicated to the art of independent filmmaking and film as a tool for social change. They are also dedicated to preserving their home — Portland's historic 1926 Hollywood Theatre.

Originally a silent film and vaudeville venue, this astounding terra-cotta confection had fallen into total disrepair before being purchased in 1997. Today, the Hollywood hosts hundreds of locally-produced premieres and other notable community events. It is also slowly returning to its former glory (a process we've helped support with donations of labor, services, and period-authentic lighting).
