When the Tianas bought their 1911 Craftsman home (living room shown here), the neighbors kept asking "Is there really a bowling alley in the basement?" Since there wasn't, Carlo and Jennifer dismissed these enquiries as local urban legend — until the day they discovered a batch of old photos hidden in a drawer, depicting a bowling alley in the basement.

We made a strike of our own at the Tianas' house a year or two back, when we were bowled over by the stunning original chandelier in their family room — a fixture the Tianas graciously allowed us to reproduce as the Buchanan.
