Deco 1925 – 1950

At the 1925 Paris Exhibition of Decorative Arts, the organizers, heady with youth and vision, forbade any design that looked to the past. From this snubbing of tradition, Art Deco was born. Homeowners happily embraced this glamorous future, adorning their homes with stylized nature motifs, sweeping curves, and fancy etched glass. Once the ’20s tumbled into the ’30s, Streamline dashed in with its aerodynamic lines and bullet-train silhouettes, to reinvent design history once more.
