An industrial classic, the Anglepoise Original 1227 was designed by George Carwardine in 1932 with a mechanism borrowed from his work on automobile suspensions. Reissued by Anglepoise to celebrate its 75th anniversary, the Original 1227 is made with painted or chrome-plated aluminum arms and a heavily weighted base for extra stability. This flexible classic can be posed in most any position possible – and will stay that way without toppling.
