Description
An Old English/Tudor lantern, popular from 1915 - 1930s, this design blended with arched doorways, steep rooflines, and stucco walls to dramatic effect. Hand-finished brass and ivory glass materials add to its Gothic feel, which suits homes with European influences: English/Tudor, Spanish/Mediterranean, and French country style.
While many customers use this fixture on porches, stairwells, and entryways, we've seen it used to dramatic effect in multiples over kitchen islands and dining rooms.
When early lighting designers went old-world, they went all the way. Hammered details and hand-bent designs are meant to evoke a simpler, pre-industrial time. These are substantial, dignified fixtures, and bring new meaning to the phrase "a man's home is his castle."
