Description

The Blue Heron showcases one of Otis Converse White's signature innovations: the patented K joint. Not only does it allow the arm to swivel 360 degrees, it's also spring-loaded to keep the arm in place while adjustments are being made. Another of White's introductions: the canopy's universal ball and socket joint, which allows you to roll the fixture into position (even on vaulted or irregular ceilings) and then keep it there by tightening four bolts. In the early 1900s, this flexibility was groundbreaking for its ability to bring light to factory workers. The Blue Heron is just as smart in today's workplace - we imagine it illuminating drafting tables, computer stations, and sales floors.

The O.C. White industrial fixtures we offer are the only ones available on the market today that are approved by the O.C. White Company. We partnered with the legendary manufacturer to reissue their designs - which means they craft every arm, joint, and knob in their Massachusetts factory to look and work exactly like the originals. We then assemble, wire, and finish these exclusive lights in Portland.
