Fraternal Order Obelisk, c.1950

Item #F0055

Description

The Order of DeMolay was founded in Missouri in 1919 for young men of faith and virtue. One peculiarity of the organization: advisors are referred to as "Dad." Another peculiarity: this painted wood obelisk, which might have guarded the entrance to meetings. The inset glass panel once had a light behind it, which has unfortunately been lost to the ages. Nevertheless, this piece will certainly light up conversation at your next gathering.
