Rare and Remarkable Flairspecs Glasses Display C1955 Item # F0181
Held inside this velvet-lined carrying case resides one of the most incredible collections of mid-century eye-wear we've ever seen. Produced by Flairspecs in the 1950's, this line of glasses was called the "Private Secretary" – need we say more?
The case, which is wrapped in sea-foam green vinyl, originally carried 22 pairs of Bakelite glasses, although 5 pairs have been lost to the ages. Each of the glasses is ornately decorated with beads, mother-of-pearl and enameled filigree and each is as unique as the lady who would have worn them.
Please note that while this is a wonderful display piece, the glasses are not suitable for handling or wearing. The bakelite plastic of the frames is very fragile, and several of the frames have warped over time.
Condition notes: Very good condition. A few pairs of the original set are missing and there are a breaks on two of the pairs arms. Overall, an impressive piece that has stood the test of time, despite its delicacy.
