Hand Carved Mermaid Figurehead C1940s Item # F1151
This breathtaking beauty comes to us from the oldest family owned restaurant in Portland, the Dan and Louis Oyster Bar. The Oyster Bar was first founded in 1907 and by the 1920's was a favorite haunt of Portland journalists. This hand-carved mermaid was once positioned as the figurehead on a galleon facade that decorated the restaurant's interior for many decades. Her tail is signed with the name H. Rayner.
- Historical Style: Mid Century
- Notes: Some scratches and ships in the finish.
