From the ancient Greeks to the early modernists, the acanthus leaf has been cropping up on buildings for generations. This iteration comes to us from the late 19th century, when cast iron was the medium of choice for architectural giants like Louis Sullivan and Daniel Burnham. This leaf stands 7" tall and has a wonderful stylized design. We could see this piece at home in your garden, gallery or garrett.
