Kiriko Sashiko Indigo Plus Pillow Item # E0848
20" x 20"
Hand sewn in Portland, OR, our Kiriko Sashiko Indigo Plus Pillow is a textile that tells a story. Sourced from a heritage maker in southern Japan, each pillow is made with sashiko, which means "little stabs" in Japanese. A form of decorative reinforcement stitching, Sashiko was traditionally used to reinforce points of wear, or to repair worn places or tears with patches. Today, this running stitch technique is often used for decorative purposes to create unique patterns, the most traditional form being white stitches on indigo fabric, as seen in this pillow.
- Cover: Japanese fabric; insert: 100% cotton filler
- Made in Portland, OR
