Description
For the Miles (and its big brother, the Davis), the main attraction lies in the dramatic flare of its one-piece spun-copper base, which presents a strikingly different profile than our other period flush-mount lights.
We're particularly fond of it with our flatter schoolhouse shades, as shown. It shaves a few inches off of overall length for lower ceilings without sacrificing style.
Based on an original design we found, the Miles and Davis offer a fresh, low-profile take on schoolhouse-style lighting. We attempted to reproduce it in brass—only to learn the hard way why the original fixture was spun in copper (copper is more elastic, and allowed the spinning to move more metal). The end result was definitely worth the effort.
Notes
- Unique spun-copper body
- 8 hand-applied finishes
- Compatible with 4” fitter shades
- Choose standard incandescent or energy-efficient GU24 sockets
Tips:
The large footprint of the Miles can hide any irregularities around your junction box.
For an alternative 4" fitter, try the Bryant or Lombard.
For a larger fixture, see the Davis.
While available in many of the same finishes as their brass cousins, the copper base of the Davis and Miles allows us to offer two unique finishes: Brushed Copper and Polished Copper.
