Description

Bead-chain fixtures are typically defined almost entirely by their shades, and this example features one of the more pleasing ones ever made, in an unusual combination of painted and clear glass. Nicely bridging traditional and Late Deco, the flowers on this shade are gentle, cheery, and effortlessly pretty as they flow around the rim of the bowl. In the center is a larger version of the flower, surrounded by artistically rippled bands with a touch of Asian sophistication. Typically used in bedrooms during the period, bead-chain lights produce a softly diffused light and also work well in small living rooms, dining rooms, entries, hallways or other semi-casual spaces.
