There are lots of fun things to talk about with this great transitional fixture from the early 20th century. First is the finish, which combines satin gilt and polished brass for a lovely effect. The beading and hexagonal panels were a Colonial Revival-inspired motif, but in this case they have been supplemented with small fleur-de-lis mounted to the center body for a more eclectic look. And, in perhaps the sweetest detail, we were able to find a set of four antique pressed glass shades featuring multiple small fleur-de-lis as an all-over pattern to go on the fixture. These shades look best with carbon filament bulbs like the ones shown - the bulbs they were originally designed to be used with.
