Early Neo-Grec Cast Iron Shutter Bar, c1875 Item # R0895

$30.00

Shutter bars or latches were used to fasten pairs of interior shutters closed - a technology (both shutters and their hardware) almost forgotten today. Even more lost in the mists of time is that shutter bars in this particular style - with the mounting screws on the baseplate rather than through the pivot point of bar and catch - were known as the New York pattern. Not to be confused with the Philadelphia or Ohio pattern.
