Set of 6 Bronze Neo-Grec Bin Pulls, c1878 Item # R0993
Elegantly high-class compared to the same design often found in cast iron, these solid bronze cast bin pulls have a transitional character that shows the popular Neo-Grec style of the 1870s beginning to anticipate the Eastlake or Aesthetic styles of the decade to follow. Despite the waning of their Neo-Grec style, pulls like this were sold until nearly the turn of the century. The flattened, semi-abstract decorative flourishes of these pulls are typical of Neo-Grec design, which is rather misunderstood and underappreciated today.
Note: One pull has a crack below the screw hole (shown in second photo).
