Pair Astounding Bronze Art Deco Commercial Pendants, c1930 Item # R1066
We don't know the story on when these two exceptional Art Deco lantern pendants were built, or what equally jaw-dropping setting they originally hung in, but we're sure pleased to be able to offer these remarkable survivors some 80 years later. Delivering on all the forward-looking style and decorative drama that French-inspired Modernistic design promised following the great Paris Exposition in 1925, these fixtures represent the best custom commercial lighting of the era, and likely graced a theater, train station, university hall, hotel, or skyscraper.
Their path to us - as with many vintage fixtures - was not an easy one, and we've done a fair amount of work to properly restore them. Three missing finials were recast from the only one remaining, and we've replaced the original broken and incomplete glass panels with new material that matches as closely as possible. We've made repairs to one of the doors which as broken, and we've made them easier to hang by adding a heavy central chain and large brass canopy to each T-arm hanger, painted to match.
- Note: These are large-scale fixtures. The lantern is 21" wide and 42" high, and the fixtures hang 15' from the ceiling. Each fixture accepts four 100w bulbs.
- Historical Style: Art Deco
