Solid Brass Mek-Elek "Mekelite" Articulated Light, c1940

A British industrial lighting classic, the Mekelite articulated lamp from Mek-Elek Engineering Ltd. of Mitcham, Surrey is instantly recognizable by its distinctive joint construction and signature right-angled socket shell and shade holder. Our examples are the less common solid brass variation found in war-era maritime installations - these were salvaged from a ship and include the original cast junction box and mounting plate. For heavy-duty construction and elegant detail, these fixtures are hard to beat.
