Even though we have hundreds of antique lighting catalogs in our research archives, they only represent a fraction of the amazing designs that were availble at any point in time. For this reason, it is always a thrill when we are able to identify original fixtures - especially when they are from a high-quality manufacturer and an interesting and often overlooked era like this example. Made by Gibson Gas Fixture Works of Philadelphia, this lovely and elegant little Empire-style semi-flush pendant features fine brass castings and a gorgeous pearl opalescent shade that is completely authentic to the time this fixture would have been popular, between about 1902 and 1910.
