Red Brass Aesthetic Movement 3-Arm Gasolier, c1883 Item # R1425
This nice example of early 1880s lighting has all the bells and whistles - Japanese-inspired castings of cranes, artistically scrolling bent brass strap ornamentation, delicately etched 5" floral fishbowl shades on scalloped shadeholders and a stunning Longwy ceramic insert amid warm red brass - yet it comes together with striking simplicity and quiet charm. Neither grand nor petite, this is a beautifully practical fixture for a beautifully practical setting.
- Notes: Shade holders are new
- There is some damage to parts of the body (shown in the 3rd image), but once hung these imperfections do not take away from the beauty.
- Historical Style: Victorian: Aesthetic/Anglo-Japanese
