A rare example of of a combined knocker and letter slot executed in cast iron with a lovely Anglo-Japanese or Aesthetic Movement design featuring an asymmetrically growing potted plant (probably a sunflower). Retains traces of its original lacquer finish over the iron. This combined form was much more common in England than in the U.S.
