Description

Around the turn of the century, the hardware industry shifted its less expensive lines to "wrought" or heavy stamped patterns like this one by Sargent, known as the RD design. Economical yet still able to include high levels of detail, wrought hardware became commonplace in the tens of thousands of bungalows, foursquares, and Colonial variations built during the early 20th century.
