Revival-Style Polychrome Bare-Bulb Strap Fixture, c1925

Item #R1914

Description

Wrought iron strap-style fixtures with exposed globe bulbs like this one were one of the bread-and-butter fixture types of the mid-1920s, though large semi-flush models like this one are less common. Often featuring stamped metal leaves and decorative floral accents finished in a gilt polychrome just like this example, such fixtures were right at home in the similarly evocative English, French, and Mediterranean cottages that dotted the automobile suburbs of the era.
