Description

The distinctive adjustable brass fixtures of the Faries Company of Decatur, Ill. have become some of the most sought-after antiques in the industrial lighting market, and their Model No. 7 is a good reason why. Classic Faries patented joints, the unmistakable reticulated cast wall bracket, straightforward yet elegant lines, and the outstanding long reach of the light combine to make it an absolute stunner. This example features it rare original antique or mottled copper finish, a metal clamshell reflector shade and an original turnkey socket, and has been rewired with twisted cloth-cover cord.

Note: The base of the wall-mount bracket was replaced some time long ago, and a new wedge-shaped piece was welded on at that time, presumably to fit some sort of custom mount for the lamp. The alteration was well-done, but bears mentioning. See photos for more detail.
