The Sun Always Shines Ceiling Light, c1955 Item # R2132
The Mid-Century Modern era was about nothing if not the idea that today is brighter than yesterday, and tomorrow will be sunnier still. Embrace that philosophy yourself with this sunburst ceiling light. Its wooden rays call to mind the designers of the time such as the Eames, who used wood in exciting new decorative ways. If you're not the kind who wants to proclaim allegiance to one era too loudly, a sunburst anything is the way to go – that motif was popular from the jazzy Deco 20s right on through the freewheeling 70s and on into today, though it's safe to say, we think, it reached its most dazzling apex, its high-noon, as it were, in the middle of the 20th century.
- Notes: The is a small notch taken out of the canopy, but it do not affect the functionality and is almost invisible once installed.
- Due to the limited space inside the shade, appliance bulbs will need to be used.
- Historical Style: Mid-Century Modern
