Art Deco Dual-Orbit Pendant, c1935 Item # R2375
From a galaxy far, far away (called the 1930s) comes an antique pendant with universal appeal (pun intended). On first glance, you might mistake it for a mid-century piece, so modern is its profile: the two rings of striped etched glass, the elongated opal shade, the utterly streamlined socket and rod. But there's your clue: Streamline. As America fell in love with sleek chrome automobile grilles, bullet-nosed trains, and the other trappings of an increasingly fast-moving age, the light fixtures of the time took on a similarly aerodynamic look. Indeed, this rarity looks as if it could zoom right off into the stratosphere!
- Historical Style: Art Deco/ Streamline
- Notes: this fixture once had three rings, but now has only two - we still think it looks great!
