Mission Fold-Up Single Pole Chandelier, c1915 Item # R2397
This antique chandelier is a bit of an oddity – a quick-change artist, if you will. At first glance, it looks like a classic expression of Mission style, with its substantial body and clean angularity. But then: the arms fold! Why, we can't know for sure, but we speculate the light may have been used somewhere where the decor was important but space was tight, such as a railroad car. While the arms don't lock in the upright position, they may inspire your imagination to wander, picturing where this fellow has traveled before landing here.
- Historical Style: Mission
- Notes: All arms fold up, but do not stay up by themselves
