This is a fixture close to our Portland, Oregon hearts. From when he first designed fixtures for the Pittock Mansion in the early 1910s through the midcentury era, Fred Baker was the preeminent lighting designer in the Pacific Northwest. Closely associated with the Portland lighting manufacturer and dealer J.C. English, Baker patented the design for the elegantly fluted Doric central body of this fixture in 1915 – which he combined with a number of available components to produce this distinctively styled interpretation of Modern Classic (D47982). In keeping with the bold Doric motif of the fixture, we have fitted it with a perfectly coordinated set of five heavy cast Doric shades in satin-frosted opal glass.
