Boy at Wishing Well Radio Lamp C1931 Item # R2763

When technology became common place in the 1930's and '40's, consumers were afraid that the low glow emitting from radios and televisions would damage their eye sight. So, charming Radio and Television Lamps like this one became popular, adding a little more light to the room and often serving the dual purpose of decorating the otherwise "homely" technology. This little number is made of chalkware and hand painted to show green ivy climbing over the well and red overalls on the barefoot lad. The tiered glass shade may be from another radio lamp because, while the scale is correct, this shade was more commonly found on Art Deco style radio lamps. Signed and dated by the P. Incrocci Co. of Pittsburgh, PA.
