Spanish Revival Mica Drum Shade Chandelier C1928 Item # R2768
This magnificent hand-made wrought iron chandelier dates from the late 1920s, the height of Spanish Revival or Monterey style, and from California, the place where that style reigned supreme. It manages to put together an abundance of rather typical Historic Revival fixture modeling and details into a completely original and striking form that has since been imitated many times. From the original dark patinated metal finish to the swirling wrought iron flourishes to the fresh drum form, fitted with beautiful mica panels, this rare fixture deserves pride of place over the dining table of a stucco-walled great hall with hewn beams on the ceiling and forged andirons in the fireplace.
- Historical Style: Historic Revival
- Note: Canopy and upper finial are old replacements
