Pair of Classical Revival Sconces in Black Enamel W/ Gilt Accents C1920s Item # R3608
The late-1920s saw an explosion in the popularity of decorative cast white-metal fixtures with exposed globe bulbs and rich finishes like this example. Subtly decorative, this fixture enhances its finely cast details with a satin black enamel finish and lovely gilt painted accents, which combine to add rich character and gentle beauty. Shown with period appropriate gold painted bulb, like the one seen here, this fixture will put out a warm glow and would be right at home in one of the countless English, Colonial, Mediterranean or other Historic Revival houses that dotted the automobile suburbs of the 1920s and early 1930s.
Please note that the narrow back plate will note cover a standard junction box.
