Stamped Oval Pan Light w/Floral Motifs, C1930

Item #R3679

Description

Typical of the charming Colonial Revival two-light pans that graced the lower ceilings on second floors of bungalows and cottages in the 1920s and 1930s, this example is lightly styled with a variety of vaguely historical motifs to give it simple feminine appeal. Look closely enough in the center, and you can even imagine Art Deco influences - a hint that this fixture might date to after 1930. Always intended for use with exposed globe bulbs such as the ones shown here, these lights and others like it offered style and illumination for a minimal investment.
