Art Deco Pendant W/ Indirect Opal Glass Shade C1938 Item # R4288
Semi-indirect lighting that diffused light through large conical shades and also reflected it up onto the ceiling was a very popular trend of the Depression period. Fixtures like this one originally appeared around 1934 and 1935, mainly for commercial applications, but also occasionally in homes. This lovely, albeit pedestrian Art Deco shade, which was acquired separately from the fixture, was offered in a range of sizes and colors during the mid-to-late 1930s, and remains a much appreciated design of the era to this day.
- Historical Style: Art Deco
- Notes: Chrome plating does show wear (see 3rd image), but is not distracting when installed
