Petite Classical Revival Alabaster Bowl Chandelier c1910 Item # R8220
A compact and distinctive 12" semi-indirect bowl fixture that offers a look and scale that is somewhere between a pendant and a chandelier, this elegant fixture would work well in an entry, stairway, small dining room or living room (with a high enough ceiling), or add a touch of class to a commercial setting. While bowl shades enjoyed popularity through a number of periods, this example hails from a the early years of the 20th century, with its Classical, reeded styling hinting at about 1910, or so. The main call-out, of course is the alabaster shade, which was cast to include modeling in the dense, stone-like material. Please review all of the additional photos to see the slight crack that runs from one of the hanging fasteners toward the center of the bowl. This crack is very stable and does not effect the strength or effectiveness of the light.
- Historical Style: Classical Revival
