Retail Stores
The Rejuvenation store in Portland embodies another facet of our efforts towards sustainability. Though much of its inventory includes Rejuvenation lighting, house parts and period-inspired furniture, the store's Salvage Department has more than 5,000 square feet of architectural salvage-old doors, windows, hardware, tubs, you name it. Our Salvage Department sells antique, one-of-a-kind fixtures that have been reclaimed from junkyards, out-of-the-way antique shops, and our customers' attics, garages, and basements.
Rejuvenation has integrated our commitment to using salvaged materials into our capital investment process, too. When we decided to open our Seattle store, our new 6,000 square foot store, first we looked for a building that begged to be renewed in a neighborhood that merited preservation. After finding the Nisqually Building in the SoDo neighborhood, we utilized an existing clerestory to provide natural light and installed salvaged fir roof decking as the main floor. We also installed windows that maximize energy efficiency, and naturally, we're using compact fluorescent technology for the store's lights.
