Rejuvenation names Greg Kamerer Portland Store Manager
Portland, Ore. (March 8, 2006) - Rejuvenation, a manufacturer and retailer of period-authentic lighting and house parts, has named Greg Kamerer manager of its flagship location in Portland, Oregon. In his role as store manager, Kamerer will oversee all store operations including sales, staffing, and customer service.
Kamerer comes to Rejuvenation after spending over 11 years at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), where he most recently served as Vice President of Retail. At OMSI, he was responsible for several of the organization's key profit centers including the IMAX Theater, the museum store and café, and special events. Prior to OMSI, Kamerer spent several years with Barnes and Noble as a district manager. Although Kamerer has lived in all three West Coast states, for the past 16 years he has called Portland home, and he currently resides here in an eclectic 75-year-old house.
Appointing a new Portland store manager was a critical undertaking for Rejuvenation given the company's 29-year history here and its deep ties to the community. The store, located at the corner of SE Grand and Taylor, is considered a retail landmark with a deeper mission - to preserve and enhance the beauty and integrity found in older homes. Kamerer feels his years with OMSI will serve him well in his new role, and says, "Like OMSI, Rejuvenation has creative, energetic employees who believe in their organization's missions and values, and I am excited to tap into that passion."
As Rejuvenation continues to grow (a Seattle store opened in 2004 and there are plans for a Bay Area location), Kamerer's role will be robust. He will not only manage day-to-day operations, but will also serve as caretaker of Rejuvenation's retail presence in the Portland community. Kamerer looks forward to creating and enhancing an already great shopping experience and serving homeowners, restorers, members of the trade, and the greater community.
