Rejuvenation and the Art Institute of Portland Present a Lecture Series & Gallery Show on the History of American Lighting
Attend these free events and explore how lighting design in the past informs lighting design in the present.
PORTLAND, Ore. June 15, 2009 - Rejuvenation and The Art Institute of Portland have teamed up to celebrate classic American lighting design through a three-part series entitled, A Century of Lighting, 1870-1970. The series consists of a two-month gallery exhibit and a pair of lectures given by Rejuvenation's lighting historian, Bo Sullivan. The goal of this unique partnership is to demonstrate how historic fixture design informs reproduction fixtures and inspires use in today's authentic and eclectic settings; from ornately cast Victorian-era gas chandeliers through sleek and colorful mid-century pendants.
