Like many folks here at Rejuvenation, Toby could be referred to as a "character." A speaker of Arabic and Mandarin with a master's degree in social anthropology (gained in London), Toby is a dedicated rock climber and rapacious reader who averages three novels per week.

The Nebraska native has foresworn the automobile for pedal power, navigating all over Portland on his collection of nine bicycles, including an exotic, Indonesian bike-taxi called a becak. Last year alone he logged over 4,000 miles cycling.

Toby doesn't limit his love of locomotion to himself. He also owns a rare cat, an Egyptian Mau named Namur (Arabic for 'leopard'). Maus are known for their incredible speed, having been clocked at 36 miles per hour. This makes Namur faster than Toby on his two wheels - a fitting companion for someone who chases life so ardently.
