Why do some pin-base compact fluorescent fixtures limit my choice of shades?
Pin-base compact fluorescent lamping requires more room inside the shade than screw-in sockets do.
Additionally, a 3 socket compact fluorescent version takes up more space than a 1 socket version. Thus, some small shades, or shades with particular shapes, may not work with certain pin-base CF configurations.
