Claw Foot Tubs Care and Cleaning

Your Claw Foot Tub will arrive packed in a crate and protected by a layer of foam insulation. The insulation is held in place by packing tape, which can leave a sticky residue.

To clean the adhesive residue, a solvent like Citrus-Solv brand works well. Clean the interior with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the interior of the tub, as repeated use of abrasives will damage the tub interior and actually make it harder to keep the tub clean.

Tubs may also have dirty smudges and marks on the exterior, and on those spots it is ok to use a mild abrasive for the initial cleaning and for once-in-a-while scuff marks.

The Polished Nickel brass feet should be cleaned like any other nickel hardware, using mild household ammonia. You can also use a gentle metal polish, such as Wenol brand.
