Turn-of-the-century lighting companies like Moe Bridges built antique fixtures from parts made by other manufacturers. For example, sockets came from Yost, and glass from Gillinder, or a European glass factory.

We're suckers for tradition. The BF6221, originally made for us in France and now made in the US, pairs nicely with the Ladd's Addition, which is built and finished in Portland from parts made in Greece.
