The original version of our 60W Squirrel-cage Tungsten-filament Bulb, also known as a mazda or squirrel-cage, was three times brighter than other early-1900s bulbs.

Tip: Install upright or upside down. Bulb can fail if pointed horizonally or at an angle.

Carbon-filament light bulbs debuted in the 1890s and lit the way until 1912, when bright and powerful tungsten-filament bulbs transformed the industry.

Painted bulbs, introduced in the 1920s, added a decorative touch to tungsten bulbs and the exposed-bulb fixtures popular at the time.
