This spindle has a sleeve in the middle that's designed to fit locks and latches with 8mm spindle hubs. (Rejuvenation exclusive latches and locks have 7mm spindle hubs.)

These three mortise locks require the CD2790 spindle: the CK4303, the CK0436, and the CK4159.

The sleeve provides doorknob stability, balance, and the correct orientation for oval doorknobs.
