The BA3462 is a clear, prismatic, ribbed glass shade which is a copy of a type called "pagoda" made by the Holophane Company from 1898 to the 1930s.

As seen on the Newcastle, prismatic shades refract and reflect light like no others, giving them a unique sparkling quality when lit. These shades effectively absorb the light while also reflecting it downward. Use this wide shade to cast a brilliant light over kitchen islands, sinks, stove tops, and counters.

Many antique Holophane shades of this type are prized by collectors today, and have the word "PAGODA" written on the fitter lip in quotes, an "autograph" process which dates back to the production of antique Tiffany shades.
