To folks who dwell in toggle switch land, a three push-button switch coverplate might look a little contrived, too cute, or even precious.

But like all of our forged, solid brass Coverplates, this configuration is authentic, if not terribly common in most residential homes.

It's more likely that you would have found 3-gang coverplates in the foyers and entrances of grand old homes, theaters, hotels, and apartment buildings.
