After months of researching and collecting samples of colored original antique schoolhouse shades, we decided on two colors - green and tan, both bordered with black - that had the right balance befitting rooms with a period look, and a more modern feel.

Baked on (because some day you may want to clean them) our painted shades lend character without decreasing the light output or greatly coloring the light emitted.
