Round, white, and ... modern?

A common misconception regarding glass globe shades is that they're an ultra-contemporary style. Actually, they debuted before turn of the 20th century, and have, in fact, been around longer than many other shades styles we carry.

The opal glass of this shade creates a big, glowing orb which lights up as if it were itself a white glass lightbulb, whereas frosted shades allow the the bulb's outline to be visible. Frosted glass is more popular, but we've got a soft spot for the warm glow of genuine Opal glass.
