We're temporarily out of the Burnished Antique, Unlacquered Brass, and Polished Chrome finishes for the Edwards door set. We apologize for any inconvenience.

"Eastlake" was a distinctive mix of English Gothic and Japanese designs popular in the late 1800s. Also known as Aesthetic or Anglo-Japanese, its abstract, geometric style was intended to delight the eye.

Named for English designer Charles Locke Eastlake, whose 1868 book Hints on Household Taste revolutionized decorating, the style had little to do with his principles. Ironically, he denounced its popularity.

Originally called "Oriental" by Branford Lock Works, this set was also sold in the 1897 Sears catalogue. See our coordinating Eastlake cabinet knob and pull.

Tips: Removable adapter plates (shown) will cover 2-1/8" bore of newer doors. Latch sets include 3-1/2" spindle for 1-3/8" thick doors. Longer spindles, different backplates, and other doorknob options available. Questions? Contact Customer Service for more information.
