- Era: 1910-1920
- Historical Style: Colonial Revival
Its candle-drip covers evoke the Dutch and Flemish-style candle chandeliers that were popular during the original Colonial era. The brass "bobeche" or dish beneath each candle caught the drippings.
The fluid elegance of the Jamison's large teardrop body comes from multiple, stacked brass spinnings. Its scrolled arm is lost-wax cast to capture the delicate curves of the original.
This family is typical of pre-1920 Colonial Revival fixtures which were much heavier and more solidly detailed than later versions. We first saw the original of this fixture in a stunning 1911 Old English/Craftsman - proof that period lighting styles didn't always match period house styles.
Choice of Amber or Ivory plastic drip-style candle covers. For a version with glass shades see the Buchanan. For a matching sconce see the Scofield and Creswell.
