The Jamison is typical of pre-1920 Colonial Revival fixtures which were much heavier and more solidly detailed than later versions.

Its candle drip covers evoke Dutch and Flemish-style candle chandeliers that were popular during the original Colonial era. The brass "bobeche" or dish beneath each candle caught the drippings.

Like the Buchanan - the same fixture, but built for glass shades - the fluid elegance of the Jamison's large teardrop body comes from multiple stacked brass spinnings. Its scrolled arm is lost-wax cast to capture the delicate curves of the original.
